In late 2020, the European Union (EU) introduced the 6th Directive on Anti-Money Laundering (AML), which defined 22 predicate money laundering offences in an effort to harmonise the understanding of money laundering across the EU. For banks to be compliant with the new Directive, they must be aware of the predicate offences, know how to identify them, and how to act upon suspected suspicious activity.[1]

Open banking is at an inflection point. This year the Open Banking Roadmap will conclude and in support of regulators and the Future Entity, industry will engage to determine the priorities to extend open banking data-sharing and open payments and inform the design of the Future Entity. UK Finance is looking forward to this engagement and working as a partner with the regulators to inform their thinking.
