Workshop overview:

This two-day advanced programme gives participants a practical framework for assessing business risk, financial health and creditworthiness with greater confidence. Through a structured blend of qualitative risk assessment and financial analysis, attendees will learn how to look beyond the numbers to evaluate strategic direction, business models, competitive positioning, market pressures and organisational resilience.

The workshop explores how credit rating agencies assess risk, how to interpret the Profit and Loss account, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow statement, and how to apply core financial ratios across growth, profitability, efficiency, gearing, liquidity and investment attractiveness. It also examines cash flow, debt capacity, cash conversion, cash burn and the limitations of commonly used metrics such as EBITDA.

Designed for professionals involved in lending, underwriting, portfolio management, credit, finance and business development, the session will help participants identify early warning signs, financial red flags, indicators of business distress and potential creative accounting. By the end of the programme, delegates will be better equipped to make informed judgements about business performance, resilience and risk.
