Webinar overview:

Join our webinar to discover how Mobile Intelligence is revolutionising the fight against Authorised Push Payment (APP) fraud. With Mandatory Reimbursement regulations coming into force in October 2024, both sending and receiving banks are now accountable for compensating the victims of APP fraud. The urgency for banks to mitigate losses, protect their reputations, and safeguard their customers has never been greater.

Scam Signal, is a mobile intelligence solution designed to detect the subtle signs of Authorised Push Payment (APP) scams, where criminals pose as trusted individuals to deceive customers and coerce them into making fraudulent payments. One in 15 of us have fallen victim to these kinds of scams.

It uses real-time telecom data from mobile network operators via APIs to help banks better assess the level of risk associated with transactions.

With APP fraud considered the world’s number one digital fraud threat, the introduction of the PSR’s Mandatory Reimbursement regulations means that banks face increased costs and pressure to demonstrate more robust strategies to prevent fraud losses. The panel will discuss the development and implementation of Scam Signal, providing tangible evidence of its effectiveness in protecting consumers against APP fraud.

The discussion will highlight the successful collaboration between the UK’s banks and Mobile Network Operators, and the supporting role of the GSMA and UK Finance, emphasising the importance of cross-industry collaboration in the fight against fraud.

It will also examine the rise of APP fraud, discuss fraud trends observed by risk and cybersecurity platform providers, and how Scam Signal is adding value to banks fraud strategies to enable better protection for account holders while minimising friction in customer journeys.
