• Today we are in the midst of a global sustainability crisis. To stabilise temperatures below 1.5°C of warming, emissions need to fall by about 8% every year for the next two decades. For context, we only achieved a 7% drop in 2020 due to COVID-19.
  • Creating awareness is at the core of everything we need to do to radically transform our economic & financial models. It's the catalyst for change, and now regulators are beginning to demand sustainability education:
    • BoE SS3/19: “PRA expects the board to ensure that adequate resources and sufficient skills and expertise are devoted to managing the financial risks from climate change”
    • CFRF (PRA & FCA convened): recommended climate risk training syllabus (released 11/21)
    • Basel Committee: climate risk consultation document highlights the need for education and expertise (released 11/21)
    • "ESG education at scale is our single biggest challenge", so should it be mandatory?
    • Join us for a webinar focussing on the importance of culture change to support the transition to a sustainable financial system.
    • The session will consist of an introduction to sustainability education's role in the transition to a sustainable financial system world followed by a 30-minute panel discussion between experts from some of the world’s foremost financial institutions. This will be followed by an interactive session with the audience where your questions will be discussed and answered by the panel.

Webinar Structure:

  • 0-5 minutes:
Introduction to the webinar and sustainability education's role in the transition to a net-zero world by Ann McFadyen.
  • 5-35 minutes:
Panel discussion drawing on regulation, experience, and case studies.
  • 35-45 minutes:
    Q&A / audience interaction.
