Join the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and Bank of England, alongside UK Finance, for this half-day conference celebrating the achievements of the Climate Financial Risk Forum (CFRF) over the past year.

The CFRF is an industry group, co-chaired by the FCA and Bank of England, which was established in 2019 to bring together senior financial sector representatives to share best practice on climate issues and accelerate financial sector firms’ capabilities to manage the risks and seize the opportunities presented by climate change. While the CFRF’s membership consists of some of the largest banks, insurers, asset managers and other financial institutions operating in the UK, its work is focused on supporting the full breadth of the UK financial sector.

Since its inception, the CFRF has offered world-leading guidance, best practice and knowledge-sharing opportunities to UK financial sector firms as they seek to embed climate risk considerations into their business practices.

As the CFRF concludes its current work program, join us to take stock of its groundbreaking work on the transition to net zero, scenario analysis, and disclosure, data & metrics.

The event will include:

  • Speeches from Baroness Penn, HM Treasury Parliamentary Secretary; Richard Barker, ISSB member; and David Postings, UK Finance CEO
  • Fireside chat between Sarah Breeden, Bank of England Executive Director for Financial Stability and Amanda Blanc, Aviva CEO
  • Industry panel focused on practical implications of the CFRF work, moderated by Sheldon Mills, Financial Conduct Authority Executive Director for Consumers and Competition, with representatives of CFRF Working Groups including Ben Carr, Aviva Analytics & Capital Modelling Director, Billy Suid, Barclays Head of Climate Risk, and a special guest Ingrid Holmes, Executive Director of the Green Finance Institute.

The event will conclude with a drinks and canapes reception — offering an opportunity to network with senior leaders from across the UK financial sector, to share best practice, and advance your organisation’s response to the risks and opportunities posed by climate change.

Learning outcomes:

  • Hear from thought leaders in the climate space.
  • Gain practical insights into the materials produced by the CFRF in their latest work program.
  • Network with senior leaders from across the UK financial sector to share best practice and advance your organisation’s response to the risks and opportunities posed by climate change.

Agenda:

The event will celebrate the CFRF’s achievements over the last year through a varied program of practical sessions. Full agenda will be shared in due course.
