Workshop overview

Distance selling has transformed how consumers access credit, but it brings unique regulatory obligations that businesses must navigate carefully. This training provides participants with a practical understanding of the rules governing withdrawal and cancellation of regulated credit and hire agreements.

It covers the differences between withdrawal and cancellation, when regulated credit or consumer hire agreements can be cancelled, and the documentation requirements, including Section 5 in a PCCI. Participants will also explore how distance selling affects both regulated and exempt/unregulated lending documentation, helping to ensure processes remain compliant while maintaining positive customer experiences.

Learning outcomes:

By the end of the session, participants will:

  • Understand the regulatory framework governing distance selling and consumer credit
  • Recognise the risks businesses face if they fail to comply
  • Gain practical approaches for managing distance selling obligations effectively.

Agenda:
