The Invoice Finance and Asset Based Lending Foundation course provides a comprehensive introduction to the principles, practices, and processes of invoice finance and asset-based lending (IF/ABL). Designed for individuals seeking to build a solid foundation in this specialised area of finance, the course explores the evolution of IF/ABL, its strategic application in business funding, client assessment and onboarding, ongoing client relationship management, and the structure and function of asset-based lending solutions. 

Over five focused modules, learners will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to assist businesses through flexible financing solutions, evaluate client needs and risks, manage funding facilities, and ensure regulatory compliance. Through real-world examples and interactive assessments, this course equips participants to navigate the complexities of IF/ABL with confidence and competence.

This course is ideal for professionals new to the industry or those seeking to formalise their knowledge as a foundation for further development.

Learning Objectives: 

By the end of the Invoice Finance and Asset Based Lending Foundation course, learners will be able to: 

  1. Understand the Fundamentals:
    • Define invoice finance and asset-based lending, including key concepts such as factoring, confidential invoice discounting (CID), disclosed invoice discounting (DID), and their benefits to businesses.
  2. Analyse Business Funding Needs:
    • Explain why companies use invoice finance and assess how it supports cash flow, working capital, and growth.
  3. Assess Client Suitability and Onboarding:
    • Evaluate prospective clients, understand the take-on process, and identify key risks, audit practices, and legal requirements involved in IF/ABL onboarding.
  4. Manage Client Relationships and Facilities:
    • Monitor client financial performance, assess funding limits, and differentiate between types of facilities, while maintaining strong and compliant client relationships.
  5. Explore Asset-Based Lending in Practice:
    • Identify the components and mechanics of asset-based lending, including asset security, valuation, fee structures, and insolvency considerations.
  6. Demonstrate Knowledge Through Assessment:
    • Successfully complete a formal assessment to confirm understanding of IF/ABL fundamentals and prepare for progression to the Certificate level course. 

STUDY TIME 

The course is designed to be completed in three months. However, you will have access to the materials for 12 months, allowing you to complete it at your own pace.
