Webinar overview:

From insight to impact: ECCTA 2023 (S.188&189), the information sharing force multiplier against economic crime.

The Information Sharing Powers, introduced under the section 188 & 189 of the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act (ECCTA) 2023, provide the regulated sector with the tools and protection to drive forward private to private information sharing within the regulated sector.

As more and more firms build the use of the powers into their controls frameworks and investigative practice, it is increasingly important that you are prepared to engage in their use and have the relevant policy and process in place.

Join us for an insightful webinar exploring how the financial sector is making use of them.

UK Finance, through its Economic Crime Team and the Information & Intelligence Committee, have been leading the charge in supporting the sector in their implementation.

Hear from leaders within the sector on how firms across the financial sector are applying these provisions in practice to help you understand how your firm could use and benefit from them to detect, disrupt and prevent economic crime.

Learning outcomes:

  • the operational/implementation considerations within the UK Finance Practitioners Guide which will help you start to use them,
  • the challenges and solutions you may encounter as you begin to put in place the policy and processes,
  • the emerging lessons derived from UK Finance-led pilots, and
  • recent case studies to help you understand when and where the use of the powers can be most useful.

From this session, you will better understand the benefits these powers bring in tackling economic crime and the strategic work UK Finance and its members are leading to help firms unlock their full value.
