Later Life Lending is a significant growth opportunity for the market, given the ageing population. Customers are borrowing later and longer, which will impact on their financial decisions both into and in retirement. This conference aims to bring together industry experts, policy makers, proposition developers and lenders to hear about the latest data and research, best practice in support of good customer outcomes and how UK Finance as a trade body is working with members to support more joined-up advice.

The conference will provide an overview of the regulatory and guidance landscape

  • Regulation and vulnerable customers: Are all older people vulnerable customers? Hear from the Money and Pensions Service about what needs to be considered to best support customers as they age.
  • Who are the customers and how are they changing? Latest data and research from UK Finance and other lenders including latest trends, how are attitudes changing and the broader economic context (pensions and ageing population).
  • Holistic advice, the tough nut to crack. We will deep dive into what we and others doing to support more joined-up advice to reflect the range of lending options.

Since retiring from full-time work Sir Hector Sants? focus has been on working to help people manage their money as well as circumstances allow and promoting a fairer financial system which works for everyone. This reflects his belief that being able to manage money well is an essential skill for living a contented life.

He was appointed to be the first Chair of the Money and Pensions Service in October 2018. The Money and Pensions Service brings together three previous government entities involved in financial and pension guidance and setting the UK's financial capability strategy. The focus of the organisation is on ensuring everyone has access to the information and help they need to make the best possible financial decisions.  In particular, that, those in financial difficulty or those in vulnerable circumstances have access to specialist help.  Its vision statement is ?a society where everyone makes the most of their money and pensions?.  This requires us all to feel empowered and confident in relation to money matters.

Prior to his current role he was, from 2015, Chair of Stepchange, the UK's largest debt advice charity.

Mortgage Tech Stream Partner

At more2life, equity release has been our sole focus since our foundation. It's helped us understand the industry like no-one else and become the largest lender in the industry.

We?re helping advisers deliver later life lending that works for every client, enabling over 55s everywhere to capitalise on the hidden opportunity in their homes.

We continually challenge ourselves to think how later life lending can work better. More flexibility. More choice. In ways that work best for everyone, not just us. Making it no longer a ?last resort? but a product of pride for the industry.

We provide advisers with technology to accelerate their success, equipping them with tools never seen before in the equity release market - like our fastpath adviser portal, which advisers can use to connect with us at any time, even when they?re out in the field.

We offer the broadest range of modern, flexible lending solutions in the market (you might say they?re a secret weapon in later life lending). This means we give advisers and their clients more choice than any other lender.

And our adviser-focused support and expertise means we?ll always listen to what advisers need. We provide them with cutting-edge marketing assistance, helpful online tools and guides, CII-accredited training and expert back-up from more than 40 front line and back-office support staff.

We want to focus on advisers, so they can focus on their clients. Because ultimately, their mission is our mission.

And when it comes to looking out for advisers, no other lender does it better.

more2life: for advisers on a mission
