Workshop overview:

This advanced workshop focuses on the implementation journey of operational risk — from its early stages to full implementation — and introduces a ‘maturity ladder’ to measure progress and outline the key characteristics of each phase.

The course reviews what embeddedness looks like and how it can be measured. It presents three pillars of embedded risk management and proposes a balanced scorecard with examples of practical metrics and indicators. This advanced course also enables participants to examine the most current and topical themes and challenges in operational risk management, including cyber, AI, and third-party risk.

It aims to help risk professionals adjust their practices to remain at the forefront of industry developments and regulatory expectations.

The course is structured to provide delegates with crucial knowledge and ample opportunities for group work and discussion, to address emerging themes and benchmark solutions with peer firms. It contains practical tips and hints and ends with a Make a Difference discussion, where attendees share their takeaways that will make a real difference to their organisation.

The course is based on a best-selling book, Operational Risk Management of Financial Services: A Practical Guide to Establishing Effective Solutions, which serves as a base for the course materials and enables continuous learning.
