2023 is a critical year for payments regulation. In addition to anticipated changes to the domestic Payment Services Regulations we are also expecting some significant changes in tax and payments policy. This includes:

  • Reporting transaction-level data into a central European database, for those Payment Service Providers (PSPs) with European services
  • Further developments on split VAT collection, potentially requiring PSPs to channel VAT directly to HM Revenue & Customs
  • Ongoing TARGET litigation, which could alter the VAT treatment of many payment services and potentially introduce a new VAT cost into supply chains

This is a must-attend event for those responsible for data, tax and treasury in PSPs. Join UK Finance and KPMG to look in more detail at how these developments will impact your business.
