Mortgage lenders have expressed concerns about the levels of knowledge and understanding among mortgage advisers about the later life lending market. The aim of the ‘Later Life Lenders’ programme is to help address these issues relating to adviser knowledge and their ability to communicate options.
This proposed programme is aimed at advisers working in the mortgage market, but not necessarily qualified or authorised to give advice in the equity release components of the later life lending market. The programme will be available to advisers of all levels of experience, with a primary focus on those relatively new to mortgage advice, with limited exposure to later life lending, or those looking to refresh their understanding of later life lending, including equity release options.
