We are pleased to confirm our plans to launch the new Mortgage Lenders’ Handbook platform.
Conveyancers and solicitors will be able to access registration via the new Handbook homepage. To complete registration, users will need to verify their email address.

Third party businesses wishing to access the Handbook and use its content for commercial purposes will be able to apply for a commercial licence and receive complimentary access up for the first three months. Following this an annual fee will apply.
Commercial Licence Holders looking to access the Handbook will need to contact mlh@ukfinance.org.uk to discuss next steps. Any delays in contacting UK Finance may impact a Commercial Licence Holder’s ability to use the Handbook. Account and access to API will be created and managed by UK Finance.
Lender users of the Handbook will continue to access the platform and upload their instructions without charge. Staff in lender firms must set up individual user accounts with permissions for uploading and editing their firm’s content. To meet security and authentication requirements, firm‑level corporate access will not be available on the new system.
Lenders should submit requests to UK Finance - mlh@ukfinance.org.uk for users to be onboarded. These users who will subsequently be able to manage other users within their organisation, they will be able to do this by region and brand (if applicable).
Consumers will be able to use the Handbook platform for free to access information on the handbook. Consumers will be required to register for this access and will be limited to three searches over a six-month period.
Consumers will be able to register through the new Handbook website, under “not a lender”. These users will be limited to three searches in a six-month period, after which the allowance will reset.

The new Handbook platform has been developed to deliver a substantial enhancement in the quality and consistency of the services it provides to users.
It incorporates a range of improvements, including enhanced security with two-factor authentication, functionality, and filter options offering a more resilient, secure, and user‑focused platform.
