2021 Annual Mortgage Conference - post-Covid-19, what's next for the sector"

As a result of the government's response to the Covid-19 pandemic, the last 12 months have probably reshaped the UK's mortgage sector in more ways and more quickly than any regulatory or legislative change over the previous 20 years.

As the country starts to emerge from the effects of the last year, it's very timely that we are now hosting our 2021 Annual Mortgage Conference. This free online event takes place from Wednesday 5 to Friday 7 May 2021 and will cover twelve key policy areas.

Over the course of the three days the UK Finance mortgage team will be joined by a host of mortgage industry experts including parliamentarians, regulators, executives from the mortgage industry, trade associations and charities. The event will provide the opportunity for panellists to debate and discuss a range of key topics that the mortgage market will need to keep on its radar over the next 12 to 18 months.

During the conference, delegates will receive updates and hear key insights on areas such as Arrears and Possessions, Mortgage Technology, the Sector and Government's Response to Cladding, Problem Debt and Breathing Space, and Later Life Lending.

Almost every session will be broadcast live, providing attendees with the opportunity to interact with panel members during and after each session via the online chat function.

In addition, there will be three plenary discussions focusing on the specific issues that the devolved nations of Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales each face.

The conference opens at 9.30am on 5 May with a keynote debate covering Mortgage Sector Priorities Post Pandemic, where I will be joined by a distinguished panel of mortgage industry experts who will provide views, insights and opinions on the sector's priorities as it commences its journey to the new normal.

I hope that you and your colleagues will be able to join us for our online 2021 Mortgage Conference. The event is free to UK Finance members and if you?re unable to join us over the three days, you will be able to access a recording of all sessions after the event.
