UK Finance is for the first time officially partnering with the BBC for its BBC Scam Safe week (22 – 28 November 2025).

The BBC will be running a multi-platform series of programming and events, with content from across the BBC including TV, radio, iPlayer, Sounds and online – to help the public stay informed in the fight against scams. There will also be a series of roadshows across the UK, throughout the week on BBC Morning Live and on radio which our members, alongside UK Finance will be featured across.

Part of the week will explore efforts the industry takes to prevent fraud and scams, as well as providing consumer fraud prevention advice from our Take Five to Stop Fraud campaign. Alongside providing case studies  and data we have worked closely with the BBC to create a variety of joint assets which will be used by us and our members.

Ben Donaldson, Managing Director of Economic Crime at UK Finance said:

We are excited to be an official partner of the BBC’s Scam Safe Week 2025, helping to bring awareness to financial fraud and help provide key advice on how the public can protect themselves. The criminals that commit these crimes can be devious and manipulative, but by following the advice of the Take Five to Stop Fraud campaign people can learn ways to protect themselves and others from future fraudulent requests.

We will be posting content on our different social media accounts throughout Scam Safe week, including the UK Finance LinkedIn account, Take Five to Stop Fraud social media channels and the Dedicated Card and Payment Crime Unit’s (DCPCU) LinkedIn account.
