UK Finance welcomes the opportunity to respond to the Government’s consultation on the implementation of mandatory ethnicity and disability pay gap reporting for large employers, as set out in the upcoming Equality (Race and Disability) Bill.

We fully support the principle behind pay transparency and fair and equitable opportunities for all members of staff. Our members are largely support the proposals, but we urge the government to consider the inherent difficulties with collecting this type of data and ask that the requirements are kept light-touch and flexible where possible.
