This guidance has been prepared jointly by the Welsh Local Government Association (WLGA), Welsh Government, the Council of Mortgage Lenders (CML) and the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) and Community Housing Cymru (CHC) as a response to the difficulties being encountered by all parties in providing affordable housing in perpetuity. ? This guidance note is for planning and housing practitioners to assist in the delivery of affordable housing.? It offers examples of good practice for planning and housing professionals which can be referred to when considering drafting Section 106 agreements for affordable housing. It brings together the experience of retail mortgage lenders, Local Authorities and providers in the delivery of affordable housing to customers.? It is intended that application of these principles should lessen the need for recurrent renegotiation of S106 obligations.
