The UK and US have deep economic ties, and financial services is no different. It represents one of the most significant bilateral financial services trading relationships globally, and almost a third of the UK’s financial services exports go to the US.

UK Finance is a member of the British American Finance Alliance (BAFA), an organisation which that brings together 22 trade associations of the UK and US financial and related professional services industries. We contributed towards the development of a BAFA report which outlines some of the immediate and longer-term priorities of the UK and US financial services sectors for the US-UK Financial Regulatory Working Group (FRWG). It also looks at how authorities and industry on both sides of the Atlantic can work together on these priorities, particularly where coordination is of mutual interest. This is of particular importance given the Transatlantic Taskforce for the Future between the UK and the US, which looks to enhance collaboration between the two jurisdictions on digital assets and capital markets.
