DIS 2025 review

On Tuesday 24 June 2025, UK Finance hosted our flagship Digital Innovation Summit at the Business Design Centre – a gathering of over 450 experts in payments, tech and cyber to consider the theme ‘Innovation for a Better Society’. Attendees came from a wide range of organisations and brought with them energy and enthusiasm, that was a constant presence throughout the day.

It was a day full of collaboration and insightful discussion. Our speaker line-up featured a diverse range of organisations that truly reflected the breadth of topics on the agenda.

The day started with an opening address from Jana Mackintosh, UK Finance Managing Director, Payments and Innovation. Jana reflected that innovation requires a collective effort and the importance of uniting the right people in the room to share meaningful conversations.

Ron van Kemenade, Group Chief Operating Officer, Lloyds Banking Group, provided an opening keynote speech on leading innovation in financial services and Lloyds’ vision for digital identity and the future of money. Ron called on the industry and government to prioritise upgraded infrastructure, tokenisation and digital ID to support the UK’s growth.

For the first time at DIS we also had a Question Time Panel to discuss how collaboration across different industries is key to unlocking the UK’s innovation potential. The panel also discussed product choice and how variety brings power, but clarity and simplicity deliver trust.

The panel featured David Postings, Chief Executive, UK Finance, David GealeDirector of the Payment Systems Regulator (PSR) and Executive Director of Payments and Digital Finance, FCAJayne Opperman, CEO Consumer Relationships, Lloyds Banking Group and Mandy Lamb, Managing Director: UK & Ireland, Europe, Visa.

It was a fantastic way to start the day! Watch our speaker video to find out about how they found the day.
