UK Finance has responded to UK Government proposals to reform the framework for energy performance certificates (EPCs), supporting changes that will produce better information for the UK’s environmental goals.
The reform of the EPC framework is an important precondition to helping mortgage lenders assess the environmental and energy performance impacts of the finance they provide, and can be used to help consumers choose lower-emission properties or make home improvements. Our response sets out the importance of the framework to lenders, and suggestions for improvements as part of the reforms.
