Homes We Need

Everyone needs a safe, secure, and affordable home. The UK has an estimated shortfall of 4.3 million homes – a number that is growing every year – housing is therefore a top priority for the new government.

Tackling this challenge will require coordinated action to support homebuilders, homebuyers, renters, and their landlords.

Representing 300 firms, including 120 mortgage lenders, UK Finance has worked to assess the current state of the housing market and propose solutions to complement the government’s plans.

These solutions should form the basis of a long term strategy that ensures that we are able to achieve the Homes We Need.
