Course overview

The term ‘artificial intelligence’ spans a wide range of computer systems that have the capacity to extract knowledge from data. ‘Generative AI’ is a type of artificial intelligence that can create new content, including text, images, video, or music.

AI generated profile images from sites such as mid journey, and 'deep fake' videos or voice generated by other apps, are already widely used by digital criminals to commit a range of frauds and other crimes. AI generated text engines, like ChatGPT, rapidly provide convincing content for fake profiles, phishing emails, and even authoritative sounding articles and blogs.

In this way, AI is reshaping many aspects of financial crime and introducing new risks. Understanding what AI is today, and what it is not, is therefore essential for anyone working in financial crime, risk, and compliance, audit, cyber security, or related fields.

Join us for this half-day training where we will demonstrate live, the potential uses of AI by social engineers and financial criminals when combined with open-source searching, helping you develop the controls and contingency plans required to protect your firm.

By the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Understand the risks posed by generative AI
  • Consider practical and workable controls for AI risks
  • Consider the future evolution of AI
  • Identify opportunities to use AI to enhance your role
  • Focus on generative AI risk management and contingency planning
