The UK Finance Risk and Resilience Academy, in partnership with KRisk, will enable delegates to develop frameworks, practices and behaviours that instil operational resilience disciplines across the firm.

Following the release of the UK supervisory authorities’ operational resilience policy statements in March 2021, this academy explores the principles involved in managing risk and enabling a resilient culture. Coupled with the elements set out in the policy statements, it makes effective use of industry practices and encourages effective, empowered leaders to deliver on their commitments and aspirations in this landscape.

At its core the academy is a comprehensive training course where senior managers follow a one-month programme that includes 4 workshops delivered over eight half day online sessions , supplemented by reading lists and downloadable resources. Delegates will have access to dedicated forums to discuss their experiences and receive advice from experienced risk professionals.

The resilience of the financial sector is not only a strategic imperative for firms operating in the UK, but it has grown over recent years to be viewed as a competitive advantage. As such, building operational resilience to enable firms to recover quickly and effectively from operational disruptions is vital. Using the regulatory objectives to unlock the broader benefits of enhancing resilience, driving a truly customer focused approach in parallel enhancing systemic stability and firm sustainability.

The academy draws on various related regimes and frameworks to bolster the delivery in an operational resilience context. The academy will provide participants, with the knowledge, tools and skills required to embed operational resilience into the operational rhythm of their organisations.
