UK Finance responds to the FCA’s Primary Markets Effectiveness Review CP23/10

UK Finance and its members have welcomed this opportunity to put forward our views and recommendations for improving the UK’s listing and sponsor regimes, and support the FCA’s ongoing efforts to strengthen UK capital markets.

Responding jointly with the Association for Financial Markets in Europe (AFME), we express our support for the FCA’s proposal to introduce a new single listing segment that places greater emphasis on disclosure. Our response outlines a series of refinements to ensure that the proposed regime can best-deliver on the objectives it is has been designed to achieve, in particular we are calling on the FCA to ensure that adjacent regulatory regimes are adapted in parallel, alongside the new single segment, to ensure that a single, coherent and consistent framework is created – this includes the ongoing proposals for the new public offers and admissions to trading regime and the sponsor regime.
