Heating the UK’s 28 million households accounts for 14 per cent of our total carbon emissions; buildings are the country’s second-largest source of emissions. We must address this if we are to meet our Net Zero goals.
The banking and finance sector is calling for a major ramping-up of action so that all stakeholders can play a fuller part in the greening of the UK’s housing stock. UK Finance has worked closely with its members to develop our new blueprint for how this can be achieved. In this major report, we call for greater collaboration between finance, government, civil society and business: to inspire action, deliver funding and define the standards needed for the greening of the UK’s homes. The report will form the basis of on-going work and collaboration with government, the banking and finance industry and wider stakeholders across multiple sectors.
