In Course 1 we start with an overview of managing ESG and the architecture surrounding ESG before developing ESG objectives and considering why ESG is more than GRC. We then start investigating the topic of ‘material topics’ which is further covered in the second and third hours of this course.

The second hour looks at ESG objectives in practice and how to identify detailed ESG topics and make a long list of those topics. We then take that long list and reduce it to material topics which are vital for ensuring that the firm is able to tackle the most important ESG topics and does not get ‘drowned in data’.

This course provides a theoretical and practical introduction to ESG and its material topics, covering:

  • a discussion of an approach to ESG strategy and objectives;
  • identifying ESG topics and architectures;
  • and, how to deduce the topics which are material to the firm and its stakeholders.

These basic processes are suitable for any ESG practitioner, risk practitioner and member of management who wants to get familiar with the processes required to manage ESG exposure. Based on previous RiskLogix courses, this course is at the post-graduate/Master's degree level.
